Today Chloe and I went on a Home Energy Awareness visit. It's really useful to be able to visit a clients home so that we can immediately see what measures they can take to make their home a warmer and more comfortable place, as well as hopefully saving money on their fuel bills. Today's visit was wonderful because we were able to put our client in touch with the HEES grant people (Home Energy Efficiency Scheme) and it looks like they'll qualify for a grant - this is all the more wonderful because the client had been without any form of house heating (apart from very expensive fan heaters) for 5 years.

Connections Aberystwyth Penparcau Tregaron
Connections Aberystwyth Penparcau Tregaron pilots a web based social network in the Penparcau, Aberystwyth and Tregaron Communities First areas. The aim of the project is to enable five local community groups to create their own interactive web sites/blogs, develop digital stories relating to their chosen environmental, social or healthy lifestyle theme and uploading these to their web/blog sites. Connections aims to help the groups involved get to grips with using computer hardware, software and the internet to raise awareness of important local issues. It is anticipated that while being involved in the project groups and individuals will gain the confidence and capacity to become more involved in influencing service provision, policy and strategy locally. Connections is funded by the Wales Cooperative Centre's Communities@One Fund and Communities First. Connections is a project run by Ymlaen Ceredigion - www.ymlaenceredigion.org.uk .
